G-Shock G-STEEL GST-S130C-1A & GST-S330C-1A

G-Shock G-STEEL GST-S130C-1A and GST-S330C-1A

A May 2018 release in Asia, the G-Shock G-STEEL GST-S130C-1A and GST-S330C-1A are the international versions of Japan’s GST-W130C-1AJF and GST-W330C-1AJF without the Multi-Band 6 radio time-syncing feature of the Japanese models. These analog-digital watches feature Tough Solar power and introduce the Neon Illuminator blacklight LED to the G-STEEL series for the first time (along with the more outdoor-minded GST-S130BC models). Another unique feature is the hybrid band, which has a synthetic Tough Leather inner layer and a Cordura fabric outer layer with a resin core.

Update: G-Shock Australia has the GSTS130C-1A and GSTS330C-1A listed as coming soon so it’s possible North America may be getting them as well.

The GST-S130C-1A is an extra-large 52.4mm-wide model while the GST-S330C-1A is a smaller mid-size version at 49.3mm-wide. As G-STEEL models these watches have a dual guard structure with a black resin inner bezel and a stainless steel outer bezel.

Can you tell more about “neobrite”? I’ve seen some images that are blue and others that are green. Still others seem to be white backlight.

Is there a way to tell what the color scheme will be?

Neobrite refers to the luminous (glow-in-the-dark) coating on the hands and markers which appears green (in the dark). I’m not sure which models you are talking about when you say some are blue and some are green. With the Neon Illuminator black-light LED, markers appear to be green or blue as seen on some Gravitymaster models. If the photo here is accurate, then the hands and markers will appear as green on these G-STEEL models. (I have not seen the backlight for these models in person.) The white light you are talking about is probably the Super Illuminator LED on its own, which is like a regular bright LED light. These 130 and 330 models have both the Neon Illuminator (for the hands and markers) and the Super Illuminator (for the LCD displays).

Thanks for the response. To clarify here is a video comparing the GTS S 110 with the S130L. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Icup3ZjsGKs You can see that the 110 has green hands but a white backlight The 130L has a green color for both the hands and the indices. I really like this second colorway because it is very legible while not being overly bright.
Is “neobright” a particular color scheme? Or it just illuminated hands plus back light? Will the S330C look like the 130L?

Thanks again.

Oh okay I see what you mean. Yeah the S110 watch on the left does not have the Neon Illuminator blacklight LED like the S130 on the right, just regular dual LED lights. The S130, W130, S330, and W330 models have the Neon Illuminator like the watch on the right. Neobrite is not referring to the color scheme (as both the 110 and 130 models have it). Neobrite just means that the hands have the luminescent, glow-in-the-dark coating. See how the hands glow in the dark when the lights go out? That’s Neobrite. There is a “Neon Illuminator” tag to keep track of those models. Other G-Shocks with the Neon Illuminator include the GSG-100/GWG-100 Mudmaster and GA-1000.

G-Central,

Still trying to pursue an answer to the green vs white question. Even if I try the Casio world site I get conflicting information. For example the watch shown in the video above with green background (GST S130L-1A) is listed here on the Casio world site as having a white backlight. https://products.g-shock.com/asia-mea/en/_detail/GST-S130L-1A/

But clearly that video shows a green backlight. Very confusing. I tried calling Casio USA and they weren’t able to assist. Wondering if you folks at G-Central have other channels of information I could access? Is there a way to contact Casio corporate that might yield an answer?

The watch has 2 LED lights as listed in the specs and below. They are two different types of lights which is why one is listed as “White.” The Neon Illuminator light is the one creating the green color you see in the video. The other is a regular LED light used for the LCD displays and that is the one that is listed as “White.” Both lights are activated at the same time. What you see in the video is what you will get.

LED:Neon Illuminator (Blacklight LED)
LED:White

How to activated the power safe function on GST S-330C-1A? I need to know because my watch sometimes will be in my drawer for about 1 or 2 weeks.
Thanks before.

It’s in the settings when you adjust the time (by holding down the top left button). Use the bottom left button to cycle through the settings until you see the PSON or PSOF setting. That is the Power Save setting. Use the bottom right button to toggle the setting. Then press the top left button to exit the settings mode. Please read the instructions if you need further help: https://support.casio.com/en/manual/009/qw5516.pdf

The 330 model is the smaller one. Other than the size, they are the same.
