Gi-Shock-Go (youtube.com) recently posted a video featuring non-AI hands-on footage of the upcoming G-Shock GMC-2500D-1A. This is the mostly metal version of the upcoming 2500 line (unofficially nicknamed “CasioNaut”) with a stainless steel bezel and band and resin center case. In the U.S., the GMC2500D-1A will cost $350, and there will also be GMC-2500 models with a black resin band starting at $280, as well as all-resin GAC-2500 models for $145.
The similarity to the Philip Patek Nautilus is very apparent due the large bezel sides, but the watch also bears a resemblance to the original G-Shock DW-5000/5600 with its more squarish display shape compared to the G-Shock 2100 line. The GMC-2500D appears to wear smaller than the GM-2100, with a 2.6 millimeter shorter length, as well as a slightly narrower width, but the GMC-2500 is 1.1 mm thicker.
The 2500 is more of a basic full analog watch compared to other G-Shock watches, with features including a 30-second stopwatch, second hand sleep option for power saving, full auto-calendar, hand shift, and LED light. The GMC-2500 and GAC-2500 series are expected to be released in November or possibly December in some countries.
Gi-Shock-Go released another video showcasing the functions of the GMC-2500.
