A G-Shock-inspired “Kashio Shockwatch” is one of various unlockable cosmetic items in the PC video game Ready or Not. The game is a spiritual successor to the 2005 game SWAT 4 and a tactical first person shooter, in which the player is part of a SWAT team in a fictional California city.
The Shockwatch item is clearly inspired by the solar and radio-powered G-Shock GW-M5610U-1 (GWM5610-1 in America), as it has the same shape and color scheme as that model. While it does not use the G-Shock logo presumably due to copyright reasons, “Kashio” is actually the proper English spelling for the name of the family who founded Casio Computer Co.
Ready or Not left Steam’s Early Access and released its long-anticipated 1.0 update on December 13. The game has mostly favorable reviews, but many people cite the punishingly difficult enemy AI behavior. Casual gamers may want to consider installing mods to reduce the difficulty.
