The Toyo Tires x G-Shock DW5600TT25-1, the first G-Shock collaboration with a tire manufacturer, will be released on Sunday, June 14, at 8 a.m. at the BAIT store in Diamond Bar, California (near L.A.), for $150. It will also be released the following day (June 15) online at 12:00 p.m. PDT at baitme.com. The watch is also listed at casio.com/us as coming soon sometime in June.
The design is inspired by Toyo’s Proxes Sport R extreme-performance summer tire and features Toyo Tires logos on the white face and black band, along with a tire tread pattern printed on the band and a blue band keeper. The LED (not EL) backlight displays an “R” logo in blue, and the case back engraving is inspired by a tire sidewall.
This Japan-made limited edition watch comes in deluxe packaging, including a blue and white box and tire-inspired tin case. A BAIT x Toyo Tires T-shirt will also be available for purchase during the launch event and BAIT store hours.
Toyo Tires was founded in 1945 and in 1966 became the first Japanese tire manufacturer to establish a U.S. subsidiary. In 2024, 66% of its sales came from North America, and it is currently the 11th-largest tire company in the world by revenue, with factories in Asia, North America, and Europe. Toyo Tires states that the Proxes Sport R tire features a directional tread pattern, reinforced casing, and a high grip compound, and is engineered for autocross, time attack, endurance racing, and HPDE enthusiasts and racers.
BAIT, also known as BAITme, is a California-based streetwear-and-collectibles boutique with stores in several states. BAIT previously released the Initial D x G-Shock G-Shock DW5600BAIT20 collaboration in the U.S. and Japan in 2020-2021. BAIT has stores and a website (baitme.jp) in Japan, but a Japan release for the Toyo Tires collaboration was not announced yet.
