G-Shock U.S. now offering restoration service for vintage G-Shock (5000-5800 series) watches

G-Shock U.S. is now offering a restoration service for owners of the original G-Shock DW-5000C watch and five other early models. According to Casio, the service includes the replacement of the bezel (including screws), band, and battery. Photographs and captions of each step of the service also show that the waterproof gasket (o-ring) is replaced.
The service costs $100 plus tax and return postage and will run from October 1, 2022, to November 30, 2022. The watch will be returned in a special package with a message from G-Shock creator Kikuo Ibe. Registration with a Casio ID is required, and the process may take about three months from the time the watch is received. Eligible models include the DW-5000C, DW-5200C, DW-5600C, DW-5800, WW-5100C, and WW-5300C. This service was previously available only in Japan and Taiwan at limited times.
