Launched in 1962 by Taisho Pharmaceutical, Lipovitan is regarded as the first modern energy drink. It included taurine as its main ingredient, which other brands like Krating Daeng and Red Bull would go on to use. To celebrate its 60th anniversary, a special lottery is being held in Japan to give away a G-Shock DW-5600 collaboration watch to 1,000 lucky fans. The black watch has a custom blue face with the “D” logo from the Lipovitan D drink, and an exclusive box and tin case are included.
To enter the lottery, participants need to register as a member on the Lipovitan site and enter the serial numbers from purchased Lipovitan drink products to earn points (1 per drink). Points can also be earned by purchasing Lipovitan DX tablets. 10 points are required for one entry, and there is no limit to the number of entries allowed per person. The campaign starts on May 10 (10:00) and ends on June 10 (16:59).
