Casio Baby-G is releasing the MSG-W100 and MSG-W100G in October. These all-new Tough Solar/Multi-Band 6 watches are part of the GM-S line, a more formal-looking Baby-G line featuring metal exterior parts. This analog-digital model takes its design cues from the G-Shock G-STEEL line with a body constructed of stainless steel and resin. With its metallic accents, the MSG-W100 offers a more upscale look than the typical Baby-G watch and is appropriate for casual office settings. There is no Baby-G logo on the face of the watch, only Casio and G-MS logos.
The MSG-W100-7AJF (left) has a silver stainless steel body, white resin band, white resin bezel, and silver markers and hands. The MSG-W100-7A2JF (middle) has gold markers and hands. The MSG-W100G-1AJF has a black IP stainless steel body, black resin band, black resin bezel, black markers and hands, and reverse LCD display.
Major features of the MSG-W100 include shock resistance, 100-meter water resistance, world time (48 cities + UTC), 1/100 second stopwatch (60 minutes), countdown timer (100 minutes), 5 alarms, and full auto double LED light. List price is ¥30,000 JPY for the MSG-W100-7AJF and MSG-W100-7A2JF, and ¥32,000 JPY for the MSG-W100G-1AJF. Based on the promotional photo below, there is also a white and rose gold version upcoming. As Baby-G watches with Tough Solar and Multi-Band 6 are usually only released in Japan, we don’t expect to see an international release for these models.
Casio is also releasing the G-Shock G-STEEL GST-W300-7AJF (below) which matches the Baby-G MSG-W100-7A2JF with a white resin bezel and gold markers. This is a mid-size G-STEEL model with Tough Solar and Multi-Band 6. List price is ¥35,000 JPY. Casio is also releasing the GST-S300-7A (same design with Tough Solar but without Multi-Band 6) in Asia.
