Thanks to Reddit user PriorityLucky7701 for sharing the ingenious idea of using an affordable IKEA stool as a G-Shock watch stand and solar charging station. The stool appears to be the Marius (ikea.com) and is available at IKEA U.S. for $7.99 (but currently only in black or white). The stool has eight holes that the watch bands can be placed in. It’s not confirmed if the bands can be buckled to the stool, but it looks like they can be. The stool is placed outside on a balcony in the photo, but it could also be placed near a window and double as a display stand. The downside to using this stool is that it only accommodates watches with a resin band, although you could place some with metal bands in the middle. Also, as one user commented, you should be careful not to overexpose the watches to the sun and heat, which could have damaging effects.
