When we first saw the G-Shock Hong Kong promotion featuring giveaways of Katol-designed skateboard keychains and “8-inch” skateboard decks, we assumed that meant the skateboards were 8-inch-long mini replicas, but an 8-inch deck actually refers to a full-size skateboard that is eight inches wide. (G-Shock Hong Kong actually posted photos of the full-size skateboard, embedded below, before the promotion was announced.)
The keychain is free with the purchase of any G-Shock “Iconic Styles” model online or at physical G-Shock Store locations, and the “Crafted In Time” skateboard, featuring artwork of the G-Shock DW-6900, is free by spending HK$2,500 in a single purchase at shopcasio.jebsen.com. Another skateboard giveaway with the Chinese-style “Absolute Toughness” design is available at G-Shock Store locations. These skateboards are valued at HK$500 each. Like the full-size decks, there are two versions of the keychains, and eligible customers will receive one at random. Both of the full-size skateboards also have a G-Shock logo on the top side and do not come with trucks and wheels. This promotion will be running until November 30 or until supplies last.
G-Shock is also hosting a skateboarding competition in Causeway Bay on Saturday, November 8, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Urban Park, Hysan Place, with special offers for a free skateboard keychain and 20% off select watches.
