The Casio CA500WEBF-1A is a limited-edition tribute watch celebrating the 40th anniversary of the iconic Back to the Future film trilogy. Inspired by Marty McFly’s Casio calculator watch, this reimagined model features a polished silver case with DeLorean-inspired retro-futuristic design elements, capturing the spirit of Doc Brown’s time machine. The case back features an engraved flux capacitor design, while the dial mimics the film’s time circuit displays. Other special details include an “OUTATIME” label representing the DeLorean’s license plate and a Back to the Future logo on the band clasp.
Delivered in a VHS cassette tape-style box, this release perfectly combines nostalgic design with a unique homage to one of cinema’s most beloved franchises, making the CA500WEBF-1A a standout addition to any Casio or Back to the Future collection. Casio also produced a nice promotional video (embedded below), featuring Marty McFly’s son and other iconic props, that will bring the feels to ’80s kids and devoted fans.
The watch features a calculator function, dual time, 1/100-second stopwatch, daily alarm, hourly time signal, full auto-calendar, and button tone on/off. It is water-resistant and has an approximate battery life of five years. (Despite what is often stated, Michael J. Fox actually wore the Casio CA-50 in the first film, not the CA-53, but he did wear the CA-53 in the sequels. The CA-53 was released in 1988 and is still available at casio.com/us for $39.95.)
The CA500WEBF-1A will be available for $120 at casio.com/us on Monday, October 27. No time was announced, but new releases usually go on sale at around 10:00-11:00 a.m. ET. (We highly recommend signing up for the notification with the previous link). It was not yet announced if the watch will be sold at other U.S. retailers, but it is expected to be sold at the G-Shock Soho Store in New York City. The watch was also released in other countries. It is already sold out online in Japan and the U.K. (but may still be available at some retailers), and is listed as coming soon at Casio Singapore and Casio Europe. Given the magnitude of the movie and its place in popular culture, we expect the watch to sell out quickly.
