Casio recently added the Pro Trek PRW3510Y-8 to the North American lineup, a Tough Solar/Multi-Band 6 watch with the Triple Sensor Version 3 (alti/baro-meter, compass, thermometer). As part of the PRW-3500 series, its unique features include 200-meter water resistance and a rotary bezel that can be used in conjunction with the compass sensor, making it a good option for water activities or trekking. As an upgraded “3510” model it has an STN LCD display which provides better readability over a regular LCD display. We’ve seen the STN display on Pro Trek watches in person and it truly makes a difference, especially with negative displays like this. Another upgrade is the olive green Dura Soft silicone band that provides a softer and more comfortable fit than standard resin. In keeping with the tactical-style military look this watch has a black buckle and band keeper. Other features include low temperature resistance (-10C / 14F), sunrise/sunset data, world time, 1/10 second stopwatch, 24-hour countdown timer, 5 daily alarms with 1 snooze alarm, and full auto Super Illuminator LED light. It doesn’t have the extreme shock protection of a G-Shock, but it offers the outdoorsperson many advanced features at an affordable price. The PRW3510Y-8 is now available at Amazon.com (choose seller “Sold by: Amazon.com” for 1-year Casio warranty).
