Iconic New York-based streetwear brand Hidden NY (a.k.a. Hidden) is releasing a DW-5600 collaboration to celebrate the 40th Anniversary of G-Shock. The limited edition and made-in-Japan G-Shock DW5600HDN227 features a translucent bezel and band with a bone-like color, green accents, and a white resin case that is visible beneath the bezel. The Hidden logo appears in red when the EL backlight is activated, and the case back has a custom engraving depicting a storefront.
Hidden NY began as an Instagram account covering streetwear in 2018. It became popular with celebrities and evolved into its own clothing brand producing its own collections and collaborations. The man behind Hidden NY remains anonymous, but it is known that he is British-born.
Hidden NY states that the release date is August 18 at 12 p.m. ET at hiddenppf.com, and early access at 9 a.m. ET will be available to members of hiddenrsrch.com, which requires a fee of at least $15 for a monthly subscription. According to the Instagram post embedded below, the watch appears to come with different packaging (when purchased from Hidden) than the release from Casio (pictured below the Instagram post). The case from Hidden is in the style of a rugged equipment case rather than the more traditional case shown by Casio. A co-branded hoodie and t-shirt featuring a graphic design of the watch are also shown in the Instagram post and may be available separately. (International shipping from Hidden is reportedly available.)
The DW5600HDN227 is also listed as coming soon to gshock.casio.com/us for $170.
Update: The watch sold out at Hidden PPF, but the G-Shock Poster Tee ($55) and G-Shock Poster Hoodie ($125) are still available there.
