Japanese fashion label N. Hoolywood is releasing another military-inspired collaboration watch for 2020. Using the revived DW-5900 from 1992 as the base, the G-Shock DW-5900NH-1 has a matte black stealth style, but with a standard (non-inverted) LCD display. The familiar mil-spec labels in white block letters show “TYPE II-CLASS G” and “WATER RESIST 20BAR” on the face, and the “N.H.TPES” (N. Hoolywood Test Product Exchange Service) logo appears on the upper right face and a custom black IP stainless steel case back. Another distinguishing feature is the red EL backlight. The watch also includes a black metal face protector and comes in military-style packaging.
The DW-5900NH-1 will be released for 19,000 JPY (plus tax) on November 21, 2020 in Japan. It will be available at Mr. Hollywood and N. Hoolywood stores and online at Zozotown and n-hoolywood.com.
Update: The DW-5900NH-1 will also be released in other Asian countries in December 2020. This raises the possibility that it will also be released worldwide (like the DW-D5600NH-1 collaboration was in 2018).
Update 2: G-Shock Australia released the DW5900NH-1D for AU$329. G-Shock U.K. also has the watch listed as “coming soon” and “in store only.” Casio Europe also has the DW-5900NH-1DR listed as a new model.
