New Baby-G BGD-565 is smaller than the BGD-560

Baby-G BGD-565

Like the previous BGD-560, the all-new Baby BGD-565 is inspired by the original G-Shock case but with an even smaller size and flatter appearance. The BGD-565 is reduced 2.6 millimeters vertically and 2.1 mm horizontally compared to the BGD-560, with a reduced thickness of 1.2 mm. The weight (30 grams) is also 14 grams lighter than the BGD-560. The total dimensions are 42.1 x 37.9 x 11.3 millimeters.

Baby-G BGD-565 versus BGD-560

While the BGD-560 and other full-digital display Baby-G models were known for their 200-meter (20 bar) water resistance, the BGD-565 is water-resistant to 10 bar, which is still suitable for swimming and most water activities. Other features include shock resistance, 1/100-second stop watch (from 00’00″00-59’59″99, 1-second from 1:00’00”-23:59’59”, with split), 24-hour countdown timer (settable in 1-second increments, with auto repeat), multi-alarm (daily, date, 1-month, or monthly), hourly time signal, flash alert (for time signal, alarm, timer), 12/24 hour format, fully automatic calendar, and EL backlight with afterglow. The BGD-565 improves on the accuracy of the BGD-560 (± 15 seconds per month versus ±30 seconds), but it has a shorter estimated battery life of 2 years with the CR1616.

The Baby-G BGD-565 series will launch on March 11 in Japan with the black BGD-565-1, pink beige BGD-565-4, white BGD-565-7 (10,450 yen each, tax-included), and clear skeleton BGD-565S-7 (11,000 yen). The series was announced only for Japan so far.
