The WatchTime Special Design Issue 2019 has a feature on G-Shock titled “Purity in Design: The G-Shock Revolution.” The in-depth feature covers the highlights of G-Shock’s road to worldwide fame. The article is an excellent read that contains a lot of information about the history and philosophy of G-Shock that might even enlighten the hardcore fan. David Johnson, Vice President of the Timepiece Division at Casio America, talks about the evolution of the brand. The collector scene is covered and the author has a conversation with G-Shock creator Kikuo Ibe. Overall, the article does a great job in illustrating how massively successful G-Shock is while providing insights into why.
