G-Shock U.S. released the G-Shock GM2110D series today for $300 per watch at casio.com/us, with all five models available. They are now available for regular purchasing online (not pre-orders) and appear to be ready for shipping.
The GM2110D series is the first Metal Covered (non-full metal without screw-back) GM line to include a stainless steel band along with the stainless steel bezel. Previously, the only official option for a 2100-series watch with a metal bezel and band was the pricier GM-B2100 series.
Pre-orders that opened earlier in Taiwan and Japan have not sold out yet, but it’s difficult to predict what might happen in the U.S. market.
The $300 price is somewhat of a relief following the unexpectedly high price in Japan, although it will reportedly be available at a big discount from various retailers in Japan. The $300 U.S. price seems very generous to customers, as Casio could have probably gotten away with charging $350.
Although Casio Taiwan stated that the two models with the green and orange dials were exclusive to the Casio Taiwan website and Casio stores in Taiwan, other U.S. retailers are now selling those models along with the other three. The watches are also available at Amazon from authorized seller AZFINETIME (see the “New Releases” link after post).
