Original Post:

G-Shock U.S. is teaming up with digital assets firm Doodles to launch “an NFT-inspired watch collection.” According to various reports, these will be real-world limited edition watches and not a virtual concept NFT release like the G-Shock VGA-001 and VGA-002 NFTs. Both Doodles and G-Shock U.S. announced the collaboration on social media as coming soon, and it is expected to launch sometime next week.

Doodles is known for its non-fungible token (NFT) collection that was launched in October 2021, featuring artwork by Scott Martin a.k.a. Burnt Toast. The popular project with over $550 million in trading volume saw some of its NFTs sell for as high as 50 ETH in 2021 (around $180,000 at the time). In 2022, Doodles hired Pharrell Williams as its chief brand officer.

Doodles is developing beyond the blockchain into a media franchise, with co-founder Jordan Castro stating, “We are no longer an ‘NFT project’.” However, we wouldn’t be surprised to see Doodles launch new NFTs that are related to the G-Shock collaboration, as it did with its Crocs collaboration in 2023.
