Casio officially announced the all-new G-Shock GST-B1000 series, which is set to launch in November 2025 in Japan and Asia with a global release expected to follow. The latest addition to the G‑STEEL line combines a full analog layout with a minimalist aesthetic, a stainless steel exterior, Tough Solar charging, and Bluetooth smartphone connectivity.
Although it adopts a more traditional and elegant style compared to the usual rugged G-Shock look, Casio points out that the GST-B1000 retains some elements from the original G-Shock DW-5000C, such as the bezel shape (referring to the octagonal part), dial texture inspired by the brick pattern, and grooves in the corners. The GST-B1000D-1A with black dial and GST-B1000D-2A with blue dial also pay tribute to the DW-5000C-1A by sharing the same color accents (red, blue, and yellow), while the GST-B1000D-3A with green dial has red and yellow accents.
The GST-B1000 remains larger than a typical (non-G) analog watch but on the compact side for a G-Shock, measuring 46.9 × 44.2 × 11.6 millimeters, which is slightly smaller and thinner than a full metal GM-B2100 (49.8 x 44.4 x 12.8 mm). Where the GST-B1000 stands apart from other large analog watches (as well as other metal G-Shocks) is its lightweight Carbon Core Guard structure with a carbon-reinforced resin case. It weighs only 118 grams, which is noticeably lighter than a GM-B2100 (165 grams) or GM-2110 with resin case (146 grams), and lighter than other previous G-STEEL “GST” models with a stainless steel band.
The watch also uses urethane buffering parts to connect the band to the case. These colored parts are partially visible from the back of the watch and are engraved with the Protection and G-Shock logos. These parts are red on the GST-B1000D-1A, blue on the GST-B1000D-2A, and green on the GST-B1000D-3A.
The GST-B1000 doesn’t compromise on durability and is fully shock-resistant and water-resistant to 200 meters. When it comes to functions, it is slightly more limited than G-Shock watches with a hybrid analog-digital display but still offers a stopwatch (1-second increments, 30 minutes max), countdown timer (1 minute to 30 minutes), daily alarm, LED light, and full auto-calendar with day and day of week indicators. There is no battery level indicator on the watch (only on the Bluetooth-connected app), but there is a low battery alert and a power saving function when the watch is left in the dark during sleeping hours.
In stopwatch and timer modes, the function hand indicates the minutes and the second hand indicates the seconds. The watch has a 24-hour subdial that displays the current time in all modes, but there is no world time or dual time. The optional Bluetooth functionality offers additional features with the Casio Watches app including auto and one-touch time correction, auto summer time switching, timer and alarm settings, hand alignment correction, time & place log, and phone finder. According to the manual, changing the LED light duration from 1.5 to 3 seconds requires using the app.
The debut GST‑B1000 models will launch in Japan at 66,000 yen each, which matches the current retail price of the GST‑B100D‑1A. (The confirmed GST-B1000 price in Europe is €399, which is less than the €429 GST‑B100D‑1A price in Europe. The U.K. price is £379.) The GST‑B1000 combines a refined, upscale design with a mid‑range price point. While it lacks some of the functionality found in other G‑Shock lines, the lighter build and slimmer bezel should appeal to those seeking a cleaner, more sophisticated look.
Update: G-Shock U.S. released the GSTB1000D-1A, GSTB1000D-2A, and GSTB1000D-3A for $440 each in mid-November 2025.
