The latest limited edition G-Shock watches based on Japanese culture are inspired by the traditional art of origami paper folding. Similar in style to the manga-inspired (MNG) series which look like illustrations, the DW-5600RGM-1 and DW-6900RGM-5 watches feature dotted lines around the bezels and bands that give the watches the appearance of papercraft items. An origami symbol of a crane is engraved on the case back and also appears on the LED backlight.
G-Shock previously released free papercraft model plans, which are still available as PDF files from the following casio.com links. [DW-5600 Papercraft Model PDF] [DW-6900 Papercraft Model PDF]
The Japan-made DW-5600RGM-1JR and DW-6900RGM-5JR are 19,800 yen and were announced only in Japan so far where pre-orders are now open. The previous culture series with Hokusai artwork was later released in other regions including Europe and the U.S. The manga MNG series was released in Asia and Europe but not the U.S.
Updates: Both watches will be released throughout Asia in December 2025. G-Shock Spain also announced both watches, leading us to believe that they will be released throughout Europe.
