Older G-Shock Master of G watches that are not completely discontinued

Update (2024): The GPW-2000 and GW-9110 are now discontinued.

The following Master of G series are sometimes thought to be discontinued, but they are not completely discontinued and are still active and available in Japan (or other countries). Most of them are discontinued in many or all countries outside of Japan, but there is still the possibility of finding them at a flagship G-Shock store in other countries. There is also the option of buying them as imports from Japanese retailers and sellers who specialize in selling to overseas customers.

Note: The purpose of the casio.com/jp (Japan) links below is to show whether or not the specific model is still active in Japan. Shipping for purchases at country-specific Casio.com sites is limited to that country.

G-Shock GWF-D1000B-1 Frogman with Compass

Frogman GWF-D1000: If you search for the GWF-D1000 at gshock.casio.com/jp, it does not show up in the immediate results and you’ll have to scroll through the “Recommended Products” section to find it, but if you search for it at casio.com/jp/watches or casio.com/jp/watches/gshock, The GWF-D1000B-1JF does show up in the immediate search results, along with the older GWF-1000-1JF. (We’ve had similar search issues with other models in the past and it’s probably better to use the later URLs and not the one with the subdomain for searches.) The GWFD1000B-1 no longer appears on the Casio U.S. website but there are some authorized retailers (Altivo, Eli Adams) that still have it in stock.

Update: The GWF-D1000 is currently listed on the “Master of G – Sea” page at /gshock.casio.com/jp, which it wasn’t before we published this article.

GWF-D1000B-1 Dual Layer Band

G-Shock GPW-2000-1A2 Gravitymaster

Gravitymaster GPW-2000: The GPW-2000 is a beastly G-Shock and one of the only G-Shock watches with GPS time correction. The watch is also capable of displaying position information and has Bluetooth smartphone connectivity, along with Tough Solar power and Multi-Band 6 auto radio time adjustment.

Reasons To Buy It: GPS timekeeping and position info, Triple G Resist, sapphire crystal, one of the largest G-Shock watches

G-Shock GW-9110-1 Gulfman

Gulfman GW-9110: The non-solar Gulfman G9100 was still active in America until fairly recently but is no longer available. The more advanced GW-9110-1JF is still available in Japan.

Reasons To Buy It: Rust-resistant titanium metal parts, tide graph with 3 levels (for spring, intermediate, neap tides), moon graph, Tough Solar, Multi-Band 6

G-Shock GWG-1000-1A3 Tough Watch with Mud, Dust, and Vibration Resistance

Mudmaster GWG-1000: The large size and rugged style of the GWG-1000 made it very popular in America, but it appears to have been phased out there in favor of the GWG-2000 and GG-B100. The Casio U.S. site had a clearance sale on the GWG1000-1A3 and the GWG1000-1A1 which are now sold out, and they are no longer available from the usual authorized retailers. (There are still some third-party sellers of it on Amazon.) The GWG-1000-1A3JF is still available at the Casio Japan site.

Reasons To Buy It: Triple Sensor, Tough Solar, Multi-Band 6, sapphire crystal, good for large wrists, appearance is a bit more utilitarian than the GWG-2000

G-Shock GWN-1000B-1B Gulfmaster

Gulfmaster GWN-1000: While it’s true that the technologically impressive but ill-fated Gulfmaster GWN-Q1000 was completely discontinued, its predecessor the GWN-1000 is still active in Japan with the GWN-1000B-1BJF. Equipped with the Triple Sensor, the GWN-1000 is comparable to the Mudmaster GWG-1000 but is more affordable and also has a tide graph and moon age data.

Reasons To Buy It: More affordable than GWG-1000 with similar features

Cheap G-Shock G9000-1V Mudman Watch

Mudman G-9000: Unlike the other series here, the G-9000 series is discontinued in Japan but still available in the U.S. and some other countries.

Reasons To Buy It: Mud-resistant, lightweight, has two stopwatches, more features than basic models like DW-5600/6900/9052, regularly available discounted from large retailers and military exchanges
