January is typically a slow month for the consumer electronics market, but on January 18, 2019, Casio is releasing the Pro Trek Smart WSD-F30 outdoor smartwatch. The WSD-F30, powered by Google’s Wear OS, has useful outdoor features such as built-in GPS with color maps, sensors (altimeter-barometer, compass, activity tracking), 50-meter water resistance, MIL-SPEC ruggedness, and a power-saving dual-layer display with color and monochrome displays.
The WSD-F30 also has some significant upgrades over the WSD-F20 such as a smaller profile, enhanced power management features, a 390×390 OLED color display, and sensor information on the monochrome display.
Casio highlights the key features in a new promotional video (above) featuring professional kayaker Eric Jackson and the orange WSD-F30-RG. The WSD-F30 will also be available in blue (WSD-F30-BU) and black (WSD-F30-BK) with a list price of $549 each.
