It’s not always clear which of the newest G-Shock releases out of Japan will eventually make their way to the United States, but there is now more clarity for models that were released in Japan in January. The following models are confirmed to be coming to the U.S. soon. This list does not include the most recent releases in Japan and Asia (for February) that may also be coming to the U.S. later, only those that are currently scheduled for the U.S. with a model name and price.
There are two models that have not been unveiled by Casio (or any leaks that we know of) yet: the GM2100YMG9A9 ($300) and the GM5600YM-8A8 ($240). These models were not released by Casio Japan or Casio International/Asia (yet).
Please note that the source is usually accurate but has been erroneous in the past, and we will consider it official when the watches are actually released. The two new “YM” models have their own UPC codes, so we do not believe that they are a mistake.
GA010-1A1 and GD010-1A1:
The GA010-1A1 ($120) and GD010-1A1 ($99) featuring a 10-year battery and front light button have a stealth black style with inverted LCD displays. The GA010-1A1 is possible alternative to the popular GA-100-1A1 and GA-2100-1A1.
The GA010CE-2A ($140) and GD010CE-5 ($120) feature a Cordura re/cor band made of recycled Cordura and PET yarn and colored with the natural food textile dying process.
The GW5000HS-1 and GW5000HS-7 ($300 each) offer stealth black and basic white versions of the highly respected GW-5000 featuring Tough Solar power, Multi-Band 6, and a stainless steel center case and screw-back with DLC coating.
Tough Silicone Band Models with Metallic Vapor Deposition:
The GM2100YM-8A ($260), GM2100YMG-9A ($300), GM2100YMG9A9 ($300), GM5600YM-8 ($240), GM5600YM-8A8 ($240), and GM5600YMG-9 ($280) feature stainless steel bezels and the all-new Tough Silicone Band featuring a silicone inner layer and metallic vapor deposition with a clear outer layer that mimics the reflectiveness of polished metal in a comfortable and lightweight flexible band. Images of the GM2100YMG9A9 and GM5600YM-8A8 have not been unveiled yet. We’re guessing that maybe the GM2100YMG9A9 has a gold dial and GM5600YM-8A8 has a silver face.
Not Coming To The U.S.:
Some models that are not currently scheduled for the U.S. are the GA-2300MW-8A, GA-B001MW-8A, and GD-B500MW-8. It also looks like the DW-5600KHG24-1JR and DW-5600KHK24-1JR are limited to Japan only and were not released in other Asian countries. We are also not expecting the DW-5610UU-3, DW-5610UU-8, GA-B2100LUU-5A, and GA-B2100LUU-8A (from December) to be released in the U.S. at this point, which is unfortunate especially for the latter two, but perhaps the possibility should not be ruled out yet.
