G-Shock U.K. teases Fantastic 4: First Steps promotion [HDS Collectors Gift Sets]

G-Shock U.K. teased something involving the upcoming Marvel Studios movie Fantastic 4: First Steps and G-Shock. In a video posted to Instagram, the Fantastic 4 logo is followed by the G-Shock logo and then “Coming Soon.” We believe that this will be some sort of cross promotion and not a full release for a collaborative watch, but we’d also like to believe that it could be a giveaway for a cobranded watch. Last summer, G-Shock U.K. did a cross promotion with Marvel’s Deadpool & Wolverine movie and offered existing GA-B2100 models matching the characters’ colors and including cobranded packaging. A Google search revealed that there is a “Fantastic 4 Competition” page (currently lacking content) at the G-Shock U.K. site, so it looks like it may end up being some sort of giveaway. Fantastic 4: First Steps appears to take place in the 1960s, and we don’t expect to see any of the characters wearing G-Shock watches in the movie.

Fantastic 4: First Steps opens on July 24 in the U.K. and July 25 in the U.S.

The G-Shock U.K. website recently moved to the Casio.com domain at gshock.casio.com/uk.

Update: The cross promotion involves four white and blue models from the Hidden Glow Vol. 2 series matching the Fantastic Four uniform colors and featuring glow-in-the-dark faces. Each watch includes a pin badge set, keycard, and exclusive packaging.
