G-Shock MRG-B2100HR-1A and MRG-B2100HS-9A with metal leaf dial and laser-processed structural color technology are limited to 800 and 150

Casio officially unveiled the G-Shock MRG-B2100HR-1A and MRG-B2100HS-9A, two limited octagonal 2100 models featuring artwork by metal leaf artist Hiroto Rakusho. Commemorating the 30th anniversary of G-Shock’s top-end MR-G line, the theme of the watches is “strength and beauty that transcends time” through the concept of “Haruka” (eternal time and boundless expanse).

The three-dimensional latticework dial is adorned with metal leaf (foil) that is hand-applied for each watch under the supervision of Rakusho, resulting in each watch having a completely unique appearance. The opal-like multicolor finish of the bezel and band, inspired by Rakusho’s original artwork, is made with structural color technology by using precision laser processing with an ultrashort-pulse laser. (Casio defines structural color technology as “the phenomenon in which iridescent colors appear on butterfly wings, minerals, and other objects.” The result is an iridescent finish with colors that change as the viewing angle shifts.

Major features of these Japan-built MRG-B2100 watches include a 27-piece bezel made with titanium and Cobarion, titanium band, diamond-like carbon (DLC) surface treatment, magnetic resistance, sapphire crystal, Tough Solar, Multi-Band 6 radio wave time correction, and Bluetooth smartphone link. Functions include a full auto-calendar with date display, LED light, and power saving mode. Each watch measures 49.5 x 44.4 x 13.6 millimeters and weighs 122 grams, with a compatible band size of 150 to 205 millimeters.

The MRG-B2100HR-1A features platinum leaf foil on the dial, and the gold-accented MRG-B2100HS-9A uses gold leaf foil. The MRG-B2100HR-1A is limited to 800 worldwide, and the MRG-B2100HS-9A is limited to 150, with each watch having its own serial number. Both watches come with a specially commissioned box, and the MRG-B2100HS-9A box is individually gilded with gold leaf and signed by Rakusho.

In Japan, the MRG-B2100HR-1AJR will be released in November 2026 with a tax-included price of ¥1,100,000. The MRG-B2100HS-9A is also listed for a November 2026 release in the Asia region but is currently not listed at Casio Japan, and the price has not been revealed yet.
