The new Casio MRW-230H looks like what a traditional diving-style G-Shock would probably look like if it existed. (There is the G-Shock Frogman diving series, but we’re talking about a traditional dive watch with a rotating bezel.) The MRW-230H has a dimpled band and a rotating timer bezel made of aluminum. It measures 47.9 x 44.6 x 12.3 millimeters and weighs 39 grams. It has 100-meter water resistance, which is why we call it “diving-style” and not a true diving watch, although it will easily handle swimming and light water activities. The running time is approximately three years on a SR626SW battery. As an affordable Casio watch, it uses resin glass for the display.
The MRW-230H is an update of MRW-200H ($29.95 at casio.com/us), which also has a rugged look, but the MRW-230H has more of a classic style compared to most MRW-200H models. Lume is not listed in the specs, but it does appear to have lume on the hands and indices like the MRW-200H-1EV does. (The indices of the MRW-200H-1EV are similar to the MRW-230H, but that model was not released in the U.S. Other MRW-200H models have lume on the hands.)
The MRW-230H is not yet listed at Casio America but is available for pre-ordering for $35.95 each at Amazon.com with a release date of March 1, 2025. Three models are available: the MRW-230H-1E1V with black bezel, the MRW-230H-1E2V with blue and red “Pepsi” bezel, and the MRW-230H-1E3V with green bezel. These models are also listed for an international release in Asia.
