Casio WS-1700H has a rugged high-tech style with tide and moon graphs and digital hands

Casio WS-1700H-1A with Tide Graph, Moon Graph, Analog-Style Digital Display, 100M WR, 10-Year Battery

The upcoming Casio WS-1700H is an affordable series featuring a rugged high-tech style with tide moon graphs and a dedicated LCD display section with analog-style hands. (Unlike a G-Shock, the WS-1700H lacks shock resistance and has resin glass and a less accurate module of +/-30 seconds a month.) The WS-1700H also has 100-meter water resistance and an approximate 10-year (CR2025) battery. The watch measures 52.5 x 48.6 x 15.2 millimeters and weighs about 48 grams.

In terms of functions, the WS-1700H is similar to the WS-1300H (which also has tide and moon graphs but not the analog-style display), with dual time, 1/100-second stopwatch, 24-hour countdown timer with auto-repeat, 3 multi-function alarms with one snooze, hourly time signal, button tone on/off, full auto-calendar, and LED light with 1.5 or 3-second duration. The tide graph has a circular style rather than the linear style found on the WS-1300H and most Casio tide watches. The WS-1700H is expected to be a popular series due to its unique design, abundance of features, and low price.

In Japan, the WS-1700H-1AJF will be released in January 2024 with a tax-included price of 7,700 yen. There is also a khaki WS-1700H-5A that is expected to be released worldwide around February along with the black WS-1700H-1A. The U.S. price is expected to be in the $40-$45 range per model.

Update: As of January 2, pre-orders for the WS-1700H-1AJF are already sold out at the Casio Japan website, but it is still available at other Japanese retailers.
