French streetwear brand FUTUR is teaming up with Casio to release the uniquely styled G-Shock GA-2100FT-8A. Along with the translucent gray bezel and band, French flag color accents on the day-of-week labels, and co-branded logos on the dial, what really sets the GA-2100FT-8A apart from other GA-2100 models are the grid pattern on the dial and the textured appearance of the hour markers. The watch also has a custom case back cover with the FUTUR core logo featuring an illustration of a woman’s body seen on various FUTUR clothing items.
The best-selling GA-2100 base is the slimmest men’s G-Shock model at 11.8 millimeters and features a lightweight carbon fiber-reinforced case. Major features include shock resistance, 200-meter water resistance, world time, 1/100-second stopwatch, 24-hour countdown timer, 5 daily alarms, and a double LED light with LCD backlight.
Founded in 2014, FUTUR produces clothing that is largely inspired by skateboarding and street culture. FUTUR recently released a four-piece capsule collection with United Arrows imprint Monkey Time in Japan.
The GA-2100FT-8AJR will be released in Japan on February 17 for 20,350 yen including tax. The GA-2100FT-8A is expected to be released in other countries as well.
Update: G-Shock U.S. released the GA2100FT-8A for $150 in February 2023.
