Following the release of the Baby-G BGS-100, G-Shock is now getting the Step Tracker feature in the new GMA-S130 line. The GMA-S130 is part of the S Series of smaller G-Shock watches designed for women, though some of the launch colors are unisex. The debut models are the GMA-S130-1A (black), GMA-S130-2A (blue), GMA-S130-4A (pink), and GMA-S130-7A (white), scheduled for a September 2017 release in Asia.
For its pedometer function, the GMA-S130 is equipped with a 3-axis accelerometer featuring automatic step counting and the ability to start counting as soon as the watch is worn on the wrist. The tracker has a daily and weekly step count history, step count graph showing the number of steps per hour, and a step goal progress indicator that allows a target to be set between 1,000 to 50,000 steps (in 1,000-step increments). The optional Step Reminder function uses a digital indicator and audible alert when it detects a lack of activity within a specific period. Other features include a 3-hand analog design, 30 lap time memory, hand shift feature, stopwatch, countdown timer, 5 daily alarms, and double LED light. The GMA-S130 is fully shock-resistant and water-resistant to 200 meters.
Update: Casio America announced the GMAS130-2A, GMAS130-4A, GMAS130-1A, and GMAS130-7A for an October 2017 release with a list price of $130 USD each.
