G-Shock GST-B400BB-1A is the first basic black G-STEEL GST-B400

The upcoming G-Shock GST-B400BB-1A is the first G-STEEL GST-B400 model in a basic black colorway. The blackout appearance features an ion plated stainless steel bezel and a black resin band.

As a 12.9-millimeter thin Carbon Core Guard model with a carbon fiber reinforced case, the GST-B400BB-1A weighs just 80 grams. Equipped with Tough Solar power and Bluetooth smartphone link, the watch is fully shock-resistant and water-resistant to 200 meters. Features include world time, stopwatch, timer, 5 daily alarms, and double LED light. The optional Bluetooth connection and Casio Watches app provide additional functions like auto and one-touch time correction, approximately 300 cities for world time, auto summer time (DST) switching, easy setting (alarm, timer, hand alignment), reminder display (up to 5), and phone finder.

In Japan, the GST-B400BB-1AJF will be released in May with a tax-included retail price of 57,200 yen.

The slightly thinner GST-B500 series has a full black colorway with the GST-B500BD-1A (measuring 46.6 x 48.9 x 12.8 mm), but it has a stainless steel band and weighs 143 grams.

Update: G-Shock U.S. released the GSTB400BB-1A for $400 in late May 2023.
