German candy maker Haribo has partnered with Baby-G for the release of the limited BG-169HRB-7 collaboration. The white watch is inspired by the popular Goldbears gummy bear candies and features a gummy-like translucent bezel and band with yellow and green buttons and red accents. A pattern of four colors of gummy bears adorns the face of the watch, and a candy pattern is also displayed on the EL backlight. The band keeper has a single gold bear on it, and the case back is engraved with the Haribo logo and Goldbears mascot. The exclusive co-branded packaging features a gummy bear photo print.
The BG-169HRB-7 was announced in Japan (BG-169HRB-7JR, 16,500 yen) and Asia and is also expected to be released worldwide.
With 200-meter water resistance, the Baby-G BG-169 base is a popular model for for beach use, surfing, and watersports. It also has a Day Counter function to count the remaining days to 5 settable target dates and a Data Bank memory that stores 25 records with an 8-character name and 12-digit number each.
