J Balvin x G-Shock DWE-5600JB-1A9 ‘Time Matters’ yellow and black set with ‘Ma’ G’ and ‘Energía’ themes

The G-Shock DWE-5600JB-1A9 “Time Matters” box set collaboration with Colombian singer J Balvin is coming soon. The lifelong G-Shock fan, referred to as the “Prince of Reggaeton,” is one of the best-selling Latin artists in the world and is a frequent collaborator with other popular artists worldwide. He played a large role in the G-Shock 40th Anniversary in 2023 and performed at the Shock The World Live event in New York City. According to Casio, this collaboration marks its first partnership with a Latin artist, and it is the first watch with Spanish text for button labels, which is printed in J Balvin’s handwriting.

The limited edition watch also has “Ma’ G” printed on the face, which is the title of a 2021 single from the album JOSE. Along with the translucent matte yellow bezel and band, a swappable black bezel and band set is included. Balvin’s lightning logo, which originated from his second album Energía from 2016, appears printed on the bands, as a cutout shape on the band keepers, and engraved on the stainless steel case back as part of a smiley face along with his name. The buttons, case back, and buckles have a black ion plating.

The origin-based DWE-5600 has a Carbon Core Guard case made of carbon fiber reinforced resin and shares the same module (3525) as the DW-5600. The DWE-5600 bezels attach to the case using a hook-like structure without screws, so that they can be quickly removed with the included tool, and the bands have quick-release levers.

The DWE-5600JB-1A9 is listed only in Indonesia at the moment but is expected to be released worldwide. The DWE5600JB1A9 will have price of $230 in the U.S.
