New Jersey-based sneaker and streetwear boutique Packer (a.k.a. Packer Shoes) is releasing a DW5600 collaboration to commemorate the 40th Anniversary of G-Shock. The design elements of the limited edition and made-in-Japan DW5600PCK232 are meant to complement the resilient nature of the DW5600 with the theme of unearthing it as a relic. The watch has a tri-color style in shades of blue and gray and includes a second resin band in light blue that matches the bezel. Activating the EL backlight gives the display a cracked appearance, and the packaging case has a worn look to emphasize the unearthing theme and to symbolize the DW5600 enduring harsh conditions.
The original Packer Shoe store was founded in 1907 in Yonkers, New York, and the next generation store was launched in Teaneck, New Jersey in 2003. Packer also has a store in Jersey City and accepts orders online, with international shipping available.
The Packer x G-Shock DW5600PCK232 watch has a retail price of $140 and will be released on Friday, September 15, 11 a.m. EST, exclusively at Packer online and in-store.
Update: The DW5600PCK232 will also be available soon at casio.com/us.
