Someone already has the G-Shock GW-BX5600 (with MIP LCD display) in hand

Redditor K-Hein recently shared some exclusive photos of the upcoming G-Shock GW-BX5600 with MIP (memory-in-pixel) LCD display, which he said was bought from Thailand. The watch looks authentic and matches images from previous leaks. The photos confirm that the watch uses module 3578.
Although the watch doesn’t appear to offer any surprising new functions and may not seem like much of an upgrade in photos, those who have seen other MIP G-Shock models in person will know that this is a serious upgrade, and one that many fans have expressed a desire for with the classic 5000-5600 line. MIP displays provide much better contrast and viewing angles than the traditional LCD displays found on other G-Shocks (especially when it comes to the inverted style). This GW-BX5600 is the first G-Shock we’ve seen with a non-inverted (i.e. positive) MIP display, and there will also be a full metal GMW-BZ5000 model in a gold color with a non-inverted display, which may launch at the same time as the GW-BX5600. Other leaks out there indicate that there is a GW-BX5600 model with an inverted display.
As far as the functions go, they are expected to be similar to the GW-B5600, but the MIP display allows more data to be shown simultaneously on the screen, so we are also expecting some enhancements. Some of K-Hein’s photos show two additional time zones being displayed in timekeeping mode, along with full day of week text and the date for the main time. Another photo shows one additional time zone displayed along with its own date in timekeeping mode. It remains to be seen if the stopwatch and timer can also be viewed in timekeeping mode. Other leaks show a traditional mode with an abbreviated (3-letter) day of week and the date in the subdisplay box, as well as a classic mode (with the old school segmented look) and standard mode with larger digits for the main time display section. One unanswered question is if the stopwatch will be limited to measuring in increments of 1-second like other MIP G-Shock models.
