G-Shock GM-S5600: A Smaller (S Series) Metal Square

Japanese media outlest revealed the G-Shock GM-S5600 series, which will be coming to Japan in September 2020. A worldwide release is also expected.

The series includes the silver GM-S5600-1JF (list price 23,100 JPY, tax included), gold GM-S5600G-7JF (25,300 JPY), and rose gold GM-S5600PG-1JF (25,300 JPY). Another model, the GM-S5600PG-4 (rose gold IP with blush pink band), is also expected soon.

Update: G-Shock U.S. announced the GMS5600G-7, GMS5600PG-1, GMS5600PG-4 (list price $180 each), and the GMS5600-1 (list price $160). Pre-orders are available at gshock.com, with an estimated ship date of September 3, 2020. The GM-S5600-1, GM-S5600G-7, GM-S5600PG-1, and GM-S5600PG-4 will also be released throughout Asia in September 2020.

These watches are essentially smaller (S Series) versions of the classic square 5000-5600 series with metal bezels, presumably stainless steel, like the full-size GM-5600 series. The GM-S5600 series is designed for unisex use and has a minimalist style with an uncluttered face and no logos on the bezel.

While there is no all-resin S Series version of a smaller G-Shock 5600, the Baby-G BGD-560 series serves that role.
