G-Shock Urban Utility Series with DW-5610UU and GA-B2100LUU

Announced in Japan for a November 2024 release is the G-Shock Urban Utility Series offering four models suitable for general use or street fashion. The bezel and band of each watch is made of bio-based resin, and the GA-B2100 models have a carbon fiber-reinforced case.

The DW-5610UU-3 and DW-5610UU-8 are reminiscent of the popular DW-5600UBB-1 with a black minimalist face and inverted LCD display but in an olive green or gray colorway with a dual-layer bezel featuring a black front bezel section. Although this gives the bezel the appearance of being separate parts, it is actually a single piece with a dual-layer molding. The “10” in DW-5610 is what designates this style, and the functions are the same as the DW-5600.

Unlike the DW-5610 (and GA-2110) models, G-Shock has opted to use the same GA-B2100 series name as single-molded models for the beige GA-B2100LUU-5A and gray GA-B2100LUU-8A, with the “L” apparently designating the dual-molded bezel style. These analog-digital models are significant not only for being the first GA-B2100 models with a dual-layer bezel but also because they are some of the only GA-B2100 (with Tough Solar and Bluetooth) models in a conventional colorway with a non-inverted LCD display. Other models that match this description include the GA-B2100-1A and the GA-B2100CT-5A with cloth band, while other GA-B2100 models with positive LCD displays are more on the fashion side. The GA-B2100LUU-5A has a beige bezel and band with a dark gray front bezel section, and the GA-B2100LUU-8A has a gray bezel and band with a dark gray front bezel section.

In Japan, the DW-5610UU-3JF and DW-5610UU-8JF will have a tax-included price of 15,400 yen each, and the GA-B2100LUU-5AJF and GA-B2100LUU-8AJF will have a tax-included price of 25,850 yen each.
