Expected pricing for all-new full metal G-Shock GMW-BZ5000 watches

Great G-Shock World (gshockjp.blog.jp) has reported on the expected prices for the three models that will launch the all-new full metal GMW-BZ5000 series featuring an MIP LCD display, which are thankfully not as high as we originally feared. According to unverified leaks, the Japanese price of the silver GMW-BZ5000D-1 with an inverted display style will be 93,500 yen. The price of the gold ion-plated GMW-BZ5000GD-9 with non-inverted (i.e. positive) display and the black and gold GMW-BZ5000GD-1 with inverted display will be 102,300 yen each. Geesgshock also reported in mid-2025 of European prices being €599 for the GMW-BZ5000D-1 and €649 for the ion-plated models.

These prices are not much higher than the previous GMW-B5000 (stainless steel) models with STN LCD displays, at around 10% higher than their B5000 counterparts. To put it in perspective, the ion-plated black GMW-B5000GD-1JF and gold GMW-B5000GD-9JF are also 93,500 yen, so Casio is not charging much of a premium for the MIP LCD with more display options, new module, and reengineered case and bezel. Recent leaks also show that unlike the B5000, the GMW-BZ5000 has front screws (placed in the four dimple areas on the bezel) that attach the bezel to the case. The total weight is unknown, but it looks like it will be similar to the GMW-B5000.
In the U.S., the GMWB5000GD-1 and GMWB5000GD-9 are $660, so we expect the GMWBZ5000D-1 to be the same price as those like it is in Japan, but this is unconfirmed and prices may not always align in this manner. A 10% increase for the price of the ion-plated GMWB5000GD-1 would be $726, which would be the expected range for the GMWBZ5000GD-9 and GMWBZ5000BD-1.
The GMW-BZ5000 series is expected to be launched soon, but an official date has not been announced.
(December 2025 Update: Some U.S. retailers are now selling the GMWBZ5000D-1, GMWBZ5000GD-9, and GMWBZ5000BD-1 for $660, $720, and $720, respectively.)
