Actor and singer Anthony Ramos has become a hero of G-Shock recently. He wore a DW-5900 watch in the 2023 movie Transformers: Rise of the Beasts and continued to wear the watch in short promo videos for his 2023 single “Se Fue.” He also wore it at some public events as well as in personal videos and photos (instagram.com).
The Brooklyn native wore the DW-5900 during his recent appearance in the PBS series Finding Your Roots hosted by Henry Louis Gates, Jr., in Season 8 Episode 10 “Mean Streets” (pictured above). The episode is available to view online in the U.S. at www.pbs.org and is also available at Amazon and iTunes. The watch is not seen prominently throughout the video, but it is identifiable at some points.
Based on the Twisters trailer (youtube.com) released during the Super Bowl, it looks like Ramos is possibly wearing a G-Shock in the movie, but we haven’t been able to confirm this yet.
