Casio Thailand to sell 8 G-Shock Origin Collection Case Sets

Casio Thailand GMW-B5000TFC-1 set with GMW-B5000D-1 and GMW-B5000TFG-9

Casio Thailand (via Central Marketing Group) is making a limited 3-piece G-Shock Origin Collection Case Set available to purchase for eight lucky winners through a lottery. This unique set includes the first three full-metal 5000 G-Shock watches: the limited-to-500-worldwide G-Shock GMW-B5000TFC-1 35th Anniversary Porter Edition with Porter carrying case along with the silver GMW-B5000D-1 and limited 35th Anniversary GMW-B5000TFG-9 with gold IP. Each set costs ฿92,000 THB (~$2,858.12 USD) which is the total list price of the three models in Thailand.

This lottery appears to be limited to citizens of Thailand as both a mobile phone number and a National ID Card number are required to register. Winners will be notified by phone and required to pick up the set in person. We don’t know if legal residents from other countries with a Thai ID card are eligible.

It appears that these eight sets are Thailand’s total allocation for the G-Shock GMW-B5000TFC-1. Unverified reports on the allocations for other countries include five for Australia, five for Germany and Austria, and fifty for North America. The GMW-B5000TFC-1, which has the color scheme of the original G-Shock DW-5000C-1A and a scratch-resistant diamond-like carbon (DLC) coating around its stainless steel bezel and band, is proving to be very difficult to obtain for list price around the world.

Customers can see the products at the G-Shock G-Factory on the second floor of Central World Department Store until May 31. Registration is open until May 28 and the winners will be announced on May 30 on the Casio Watches Thailand Facebook page. Winners are required to pick up and pay for the set on May 31 at 7 p.m. at Central World.
