‘G-SHOCK’ book excerpts and more information revealed

G-Shock Book By Ariel Adams

Excerpts from the upcoming “G-SHOCK” book by Ariel Adams were recently published on his website aBlogtoWatch. The book appears to have a new cover in place of the more colorful one that was initially shown. The excerpts include part of the introduction, writing on the history of G-Shock (which doesn’t appear to have been published before online), photos of a disassembled Mudmaster GWG-2000 that we haven’t seen before, a section featuring limited edition collaborative releases, and various photos of past models, collaborations, and people (astronauts, Spike Lee) wearing G-Shock. Ariel Adams states that the focus of the book is on the evolution of G-Shock, saying, “The story of how the Casio G-Shock was first invented is one that has been told a number of times, but a lesser-known and arguably more interesting story is exactly how this line of watches has evolved over the years and the different ways that it has been integrated into our culture.”

We have high expectations for the book, and although it is a bit pricey at around $65, it is a 9.25″ by 12.25″ hardcover book with 256 pages and 175 photographs. It is the first American-published book devoted solely to G-Shock.

The article states that the book will officially go on sale in October 2023, although Amazon and Barnes & Noble are showing a September 26 release date. There will also be a launch event for the book in New York City sometime in October, with more information to be announced later.
