G-Shock reaches 130 million watches shipped

According to an article by Forbes Japan, G-Shock has reached a total of 130 million watches shipped in its lifetime, as of October 2021. Casio previously celebrated the 100 million milestone in August 2017. In a span of just four years, Casio has shipped almost a third of the amount that it had shipped in its first 34 years, with an average of 7.5 million units per year since 2017. The record number of shipments in a single year since 2018 was reported to be about 8.5 million units. This increased rate is a testament to G-Shock’s growing popularity and worldwide expansion.

The milestone coincides with the launching of the “My G-Shock” service in Japan, which allows customers to customize a DWE-5610 Carbon Core Guard watch with selectable colors and parts. The service is also offering the custom gray DWE-5610-SP1 model by designer Takayuki Fujii of apparel brand Nonnative.
