On July 25, 2025, Captain Stephen M. Healey took over leadership of Naval Special Warfare Group 11. During the change-of-command ceremony, Healey wore a G-Shock DW-6900. Before assuming this role, Captain Healey served in a senior capacity at Naval Special Warfare Detachment Washington, D.C. According to the U.S. Navy, NSWG-11 is a crucial component of U.S. Naval Special Warfare Command, composed mainly of Navy Reserve SEAL and Special Warfare Combatant‑Craft Crewmen (SWCC) units.
As a Naval Special Warfare officer, Healey completed BUD/S + SEAL Qualification Training and is a Navy SEAL, so his choice of a G-Shock as his primary work watch is not surprising. He also previously served as Commanding Officer for SEAL Team 17 from 2020-2023. The G-Shock DW-6900 is known to be regularly used by Navy SEALs following their previous use of the DW-6600, and SEALs have also been wearing the DW-9052 recently.
We also spotted this photo of a Navy SEAL wearing a G-Shock DW-9052 during joint maritime training in Australia in July 2025.
