The iconic DW-6900 is one of the best-selling G-Shock models of all time and gained great popularity with celebrities in the hip hop scene along with members of the military. The DW-6900 evolved from the Triple Graph design of the DW-5900 and the front light button structure of the DW-6600. The DW6900-1V is one of the most affordable G-Shock watches available and is available heavily discounted at major retailers. With the popularity of analog-digital models and the rise of the GA-2100, the DW-6900 has recently taken a back seat to the DW-5600 in terms of new colorways and is now mostly used for limited edition collaborations.

The DW-6900 was considered a larger oversized model back in the 1990s. In comparison to the larger G-Shock watches of today, we categorize it as a medium size, although it does wear larger and than the DW-5600.
