Meta founder CEO and jiu-jitsu blue belt Mark Zuckerberg got a lot of attention for wearing a $900,000 Greubel Forsey watch when he announced Facebook’s fact-checking policy shift in January, and is now in the spotlight for wearing a $120 Casio G-Shock GA2100WS-7A during a recent interview with Colin and Samir (youtube.com). The hour-long interview includes discussions about the future of the internet and an appearance by Jimmy Donaldson (MrBeast).
Part of the best-selling analog-digital GA-2100 “CasiOak” series which launched in 2019, the GA2100WS-7A has a white resin bezel and band with a metallic blue dial. The GA2100WS-7A was released with the smaller GMAS2100WS-7A (with metallic orange dial) as a complementary pair in 2023, with each model released individually. The GA2100WS-7A is discontinued and now mostly sold out in the U.S., but it may still be found at certain retailers.
(G-Shock U.S. just released the similar GA2100BM-7A2 for $130 at casio.com/us, which has a light blue metallic dial and a skeleton-style translucent bezel and band.)
Zuckerberg wore the G-Shock watch along with a blue Ardsley Athletics t-shirt, which is noted to be the same shirt that Jesse Eisenberg wore in the film The Social Network (as in the actual shirt that Eisenberg wore during his performance), reportedly purchased at an online auction for $4,095. Zuckerberg briefly attended Ardsley High School, where he was captain of the fencing team. This is the first time that Zuckerberg, a collector of expensive watches, was spotted wearing a G-Shock.
