These updated “U” G-Shocks will be released in the U.S.

The U.S. is scheduled to get some of the updated “U” models that were released in Japan in January, including the GW2310U-1 (left, $155), GW6900U-1 (middle, $155), and GX56UBB-1 (right, $165). It will not be getting the GW-2310UFB-1, DW-5900U-1, or DW-5900UBB-1. These models feature the white LED backlight instead of the previous blue-green EL backlight but are otherwise the same as their earlier counterparts. Although battery life is not as much of an issue with these Tough Solar-powered models as it is with battery-powered DW models, the LED backlight is more power-efficient and is not expected to degrade as much in brightness over the long term. (The GX-56UBB-1 was released in Europe, and the DW-5900U-1 and DW-5900UBB-1 were released in the U.K.)

These models are expected to be released sometime soon at casio.com/us, and the GW2310U-1 is currently available at azfinetime.com.

We also checked for any incoming GWBX5600 models but found nothing.
