The Mudmaster enters a new era with the Carbon Core Guard structure and Bluetooth…
G-Shock is releasing the all-new Mudmaster GG-B100 series in July 2019. The GG-B100 is part of the recent wave of Carbon Core Guard G-Shocks and has a carbon fiber-reinforced case with a carbon fiber bezel. Like previous Mudmaster and Mudman models, the GG-B100 has a mud-resistant structure.
The GG-B100 has a Quad Sensor (but it is not the same Quad Sensor as the GWN-Q1000 Gulfmaster which included a water Depth Meter). Three of the sensors are the pressure sensor (altimeter and barometer), compass, and thermometer, and the fourth is a step counter. The GG-B100 has the Bluetooth mobile link function that allows the watch to connect to the G-Shock Connected smartphone app for various functions such as automatic time adjustment, mission log, location indicator, calorie consumption display, and phone finder.
A noticeable addition to this model that the other “junior” (non-GWG-1000) Mudmaster models lack is the front-facing light button. As with the new GA-2000 series, the new Carbon Core Guard case allows the watch to have guardless buttons. Unlike the sleeker look of the GA-2000, the GG-B100 retains the signature armored look of previous Mudmaster models with protective resin sections placed over the bezel.
The GG-B100 will launch in three colorways in July 2019 in Japan with the black GG-B100-1AJF, khaki green GG-B100-1A3JF, and orange GG-B100-1A9JF. The GG-B100-1A, GG-B100-1A3, and GG-B100-1A9 are also expected to be released in the rest of Asia in July 2019. Casio America announced the GGB100-1A3 for an August 2019 release with a list price of $350. (Update: The GGB100-1A, GGB100-1A3, and GGB100-1A9 are also being released in the U.S. with a list price of $350 each.)
Update (March 2019): Casio officially announced the GG-B100.
The fourth sensor is an accelerometer that serves as a step counter. Other unique functions include the Mission Log which automatically records a track of the altitude data from the watch and GPS data from the smartphone to a dedicated app. Manual operation also allows the user to plot an altitude point on a map. The Location Indicator function displays the compass bearing direction and distance to a user-designated location. This settable location is actually the user’s current location at the time of designation, so this function allows the user to backtrack to the original location (and does not serve as a route mapping function for other destinations). The Customizable Mode allows the user to change which functions appear when the Mode button is pressed and in what order they are displayed.
The carbon fiber bezel is made with a carbon fiber sheet inserted into the fine resin. The top fine resin layer is transparent which allows the the carbon fiber to be visible.
The watch is battery-powered with an estimated battery life of 2 years. Other features include world time (38 cities + UTC), 1/100-second stopwatch (for first 60 minutes, 1-second after 60 minutes, max 59’59”99 with elapsed time, split time, 1st and 2nd place times), countdown timer (max 24 hours with 1-second increments, and 1-minute and 1-hour increments for setting from 1 minute to 24 hours), 5 daily alarms, hourly time signal, sunrise/sunset time display, auto double LED light with afterglow (1.5/3 seconds). The dimension are 55.4 x 34.9 x 19.3 millimeters and the weight is about 92 grams.
G-Shock GG-B100 Mudmaster: GG-B100-1A, GG-B100-1A3, GG-B100-1A9:
Update (June 2019): Casio Europe now has the GG-B100 models listed. Other info and features not previously mentioned include:
• The altimeter operates at up to 10,000 meters.
• There is a 40-set altimeter data memory that includes the measured altitude and date and time.
• The Height Gain function sums all meters climbed in a session to show the total ascent during a tour.
• The measuring range of the barometer is 260/1100 hPa.
• The measuring range of the thermometer is (-10°C /+60°C).
• The display is mineral glass.
• The watch has a battery change indicator that shows an icon when it is time to change the CR2025 battery.
Update (July 2019): The GG-B100-1AJF, GG-B100-1A3JF, and GG-B100-1A9JF have a list price in Japan of 45,000 JPY each. G-Shock Japan says that the GG-B100 has a “spherical curved [mineral] glass” display. The GG-B100-1A, GG-B100-1A3, and GG-B100-1A9 are also being released in other Asian countries.

Does anyone know the availability date for the Mudmaster GG-B100 ? Will order one up immediately from Amazon as soon as possible! (June 12, ‘19)
It will be released in Japan and Asia in July 2019, so most likely sometime in August for the U.S. and Europe.
Its call “milking”, probably 6 months after its release, Casio will release a higher priced model with Solar and other colours.
or maybe “having options”
I love tough solar too but why useless? Is it so hard to change the battery every 2-3 years? It will probably display a low battery warning too.
Yes, this watch has a low battery warning.
I will consider this watch seriously. Why? Because it does not use tough solar.
We have had enough of tough solar watches… All of them eventually fogged up. Misting under the glass display. Not to mention the tough solar cell which has issues not being able to be charged fully. I agree if this model does not require a tough solar. I have been through adventures and the last thing I need is a fogged up watch. Whether the 2025 battery will last more than a year or not is not an issue. If you are a serious adventurer, your watch need attention every time you complete a task. Especially a heavy task. I also hope that this watch does not suffer the issue of hour / minute / second hand inaccuracy or failure to return to the correct location, as experienced with the G-shock gulfmaster triple and quad sensor.
Agreed.
I notice the price range for this new Quad mudmaster is more in line with the GG1000 (£300 mark) rather than the GWG 1000 (£660). Although it has almost (no solar) all the tech the gwg 1000 has, more, if you consider the Bluetooth /smartphone and pedometer etc)
So my question is, is this a great upgrade to the GG1000 rather than an upgrade for the GWG1000 (as I’ve never heard of anything to be upgraded yet cheaper than the older version) . Or is there a specific upgrade in the pipeline for the GWG1000 (which id expect for the price to have solar and maybe even more going on than this new one)
Cheers.
Yes, I would consider it more of an “upgrade” to the GG-1000 than the GWG-1000. Actually, the Gravitymaster GPW-2000 has a lower list price ($800) than the GPW-1000 ($950), but that’s the only one I can think of. Not sure about any upgrade to the GWG-1000 that is coming.
at least they have got rid of them straps that start off nice and wide and go narrow as hell at bottom
The location indicator doesnt work. No matter how many times i try it always fails to get the location on the smartphone. Good looking watch, but i already regret buying it.
Sorry to hear about your problem. Have you tried it with another phone?
solar for such great watch would be great mistake. The 2025 batteries are available everywhere
for less than five bucks.solar batteries last a little but they go for over forty and sixty bucks
for genuine one.Thats what I was awaiting for wherever you are you change the battery just like that in fraction of a price
great watch
I can’t find a manual for GG-B100-1a I have searched everywhere. They ask for a number on back case, I don’t have a number on it.
https://support.casio.com/en/manual/manualsearch.php?cid=009&MODULE=5594
So after checking the manual I think I already got my answer, but I’m asking anyway to be sure.
There’s a Casio promo video that says, that you can set a location on the App and then use the direction indicator to go there.
But from what I’ve seen so far, and stated in the manual, you can only set your current location and use the location indicator for returning later. So that’s not really a navigating feature, is it?
Yes, you can only set the current location, so it acts as a backtracking indicator. I suppose that could still be considered a navigating feature, but yeah I think it is a little misleading in the video, and I’ve updated our articles to make this clearer. The GPR-B1000 Rangeman is more of a navigation watch with built-in GPS that you can set destinations with.
