The G-Shock GW5000U-1 ($300) is back in stock at Casio America and is also available from authorized dealer Arizona Fine Time.

Previously a Japan-only series in the 2010s with the exception of some limited anniversary models, the GW-5000 features a stainless steel screw-back case with a DLC coating, Tough Solar power, and Multi-Band 6 auto radio time adjustment. It also has more advanced functions than the also stainless steel-cased and recent DW5000R-1A, with additional features like world time, multiple daily alarms, full auto LED backlight, button sound on/off, and adjustable date format. The GW5000U-1 was first released in the U.S. in 2023, where it frequently sells out at the Casio site. Prior to this, it was available in the U.S. only at the Casio site and was originally exclusive to the Hodinkee Shop during its initial release.

Casio America also released the stealthy GW5000HS-1 with inverted LCD display and the white GW5000HS-7 in February 2025, but those models now appear to be sold out, and they are not available from other U.S. retailers.
