The silver and black G-Shock MTG-B3000D-1A is the type of standard colorway one might have expected for the MTG-B3000 series debut earlier this year, but Casio has been somewhat unpredictable with its launch models lately, with this one arriving for the holiday season. The watch features a special black ion plating on the outer edges of the bezel that is created by applying a full IP and then polishing and cutting to expose the stainless steel. The contrasting style extends to the hands which have a silver and black alumite treatment, and the black ion plated screws, buttons, and crown complete the look.
The MTG-B3000D-1A is a pricier alternative to the GM-B2100D-1A, as both are medium-size stainless steel models. Unlike the full metal GM-B2100, it has a carbon fiber reinforced case, sapphire crystal, and full analog display with three analog hands. The composite band is made of stainless steel and a fine resin inner layer. The MTG-B3000D-1A is also thinner (12.1 mm) and slightly lighter than the GM-B2100D-1A. Other features include Tough Solar power, Multi-Band 6 auto radio time sync, Bluetooth smartphone link, and Triple G Resist.
In Japan, the MTG-B3000D-1AJF will be released in October for 132,000 yen (tax included), with other regions expected to follow.
