Casio has announced the GM-5600RH-1, marking the fifth collaboration between G-Shock and NBA player Rui Hachimura. Building on the success of previous releases, this latest edition takes the classic square 5600 design and gives it a premium, personalized update. This is the first Rui Hachimura collaboration to use the 5600 form factor, making it a must-have for collectors of both signature models and square G-Shocks.
Like many of his previous signature models, the watch is a deluxe limited edition with a stainless steel bezel. It has a black ion plating and a black band made of bio-based resin, combined with red accents including red border lines around the LCD display and face. Hachimura’s personal “Black Samurai” logo appears on the face and the case back, and his signature adorns the stainless steel band keeper. This limited edition includes a traditional cobranded tin watch case, which is no longer used for standard G-Shock releases.
In Japan, the GM-5600RH-1JR is available for pre-ordering for 39,600 yen. The GM-5600RH-1 is also listed at the Casio International (Asia) site and at various Casio Europe sites as coming soon for €279, and a worldwide release is expected. [Update: G-Shock U.S. released the GM5600RH-1 for $280.]
