Status of G-Shock Gulfman GW-9110 is uncertain, possibly discontinued

G-Shock Gulfman GW-9110 Sold Out and Possibly Discontinued

The G-Shock Gulfman GW-9110-1JF has recently gone into “Sold Out” status at the Casio Japan website, and its future is uncertain. Another older Master of G model that is in sold out status in Japan is the Gravitymaster GWR-B1000-1A1JF, and it has been that way for a while, leading us to believe that is is discontinued.

G-Shock Japan’s recent print catalog for spring/summer 2023 did not feature the GW-9110 or GWR-B1000 series at all, but it did feature the Gulfmaster GWN-1000 and Gravitymaster GPW-2000 series. (However, that catalog is not a comprehensive listing of all active series and models, so this cannot be considered a confirmation.)

Update: Japanese retailer Bic Camera lists the Gravitymaster GWR-B1000-1A1JF as “Production Completion” (i.e. discontinued), and we noticed that the Gulfman GW-9110-1JF just recently sold out there (after it was sold out at Casio) and is now also in “Production Completion” status at Bic Camera, so this may be the strongest evidence that it is discontinued.

The Gulfman GW-9100 and G-9100 series were launched in 2007, and the GW-9110 (upgraded from Multi-Band 5 to Multi-Band 6) was launched in 2009. The series was designed for marine workers and is known for its “Rust Resist” designation featuring titanium exterior parts and tide and moon graphs. The Gulfman is a Master of G series that was featured prominently in limited edition 25th Anniversary series during 2007 and 2008. The non-solar G-9100 was available in the U.S. and appears to be discontinued, although it is still available from some third-party sellers.
