Following the first TranTixxii model from 2021 (GMW-B5000TR-9), G-Shock is releasing another limited edition GMW-B5000 made with the special titanium alloy. The G-Shock GMW-B5000TCC-1 has a circuit board-inspired design that is similar to the DWE-5600CC-3. This camouflage-like pattern is the result of a black ion plating on the bezel and band and a two-process laser engraving that results in two color tones. The module number “3459” is engraved on the lower bezel, and the circuit pattern extends onto the face and solar panels of the watch.
The GMW-B5000TCC-1 measures 49.3 x 43.2 x 13.0 millimeters and weighs 104 grams, which is significantly lighter than stainless steel GMW-B5000 models (167 grams). The TranTixxii alloy is made by Nippon Steel Corporation and is twice as hard as pure titanium. Along with being lightweight, TranTixxii also has anti-corrosive and hypoallergenic properties.
Major features of the GMW-B5000TCC-1 include Tough Solar power, Multi-Band 6 automatic radio time sync, Bluetooth mobile link, 5 world times, 1/100-second stopwatch, 24-hour countdown timer, 5 daily alarms with 1 snooze, full auto LED backlight, and adjustable date format. The Bluetooth functions include auto time correction, alarm and timer settings, time and place log, date reminder, phone finder, auto summer time switching, and approximately 300 world time cities. (The watch can be set up and operated without Bluetooth.)
In Japan, the GMW-B5000TCC-1JR is scheduled for a January 2023 release with a price of 214,500 yen (tax included). The GMW-B5000TCC-1 is also expected to be released worldwide.
Update: G-Shock U.S. released the GMWB5000TCC1 for $1,800.
